A court has sentenced a father to life imprisonment for the killing of his three-year-old son in the village of Tsapatagh.

According to the Judicial Department, cited by 1lurer.am, A.O. was convicted of unlawfully killing his young child, who was in a helpless condition.

During the preliminary investigation, authorities established that on October 27, 2025, the father, acting out of revenge, intentionally killed his minor son, who was also his close relative. The crime was committed in a field near the settlement of Tsapatagh, where he strangled the child with his hands.

After the killing, he attempted to conceal the body by moving it across different parts of the field, and later transported it to an area near the junction leading to the village of Jil in the Chambarak community. The body was discovered there on November 2, 2025, during search and rescue operations.

An external examination revealed bodily injuries in the head area of the child.

A forensic medical examination confirmed that the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia resulting from compression of the neck organs with a blunt object.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.O. under points 3, 5, and 9 of part 2 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code, for the murder of a helpless minor by a close relative.
