Several centers for elderly people and children in Armenia will be merged to improve administrative efficiency, optimize financial resources, and simplify management processes. The decision was approved at a government meeting.

The “Yerevan Ajapnyak Children’s Social Care Center” and the “Child and Family Support Center” will be merged into the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs’ “Yerevan Zatik Children’s Support Center,” resulting in the creation of Ajapnyak and Nubarashen branches, Sputnik Armenia reports.

Additionally, the “Mari Izmirlyan Orphanage” and the “Yerevan Children’s Home” will be unified to form the Mari Izmirlyan branch.

The “Haghtanak” and “Nork” 24-hour care centers have also been merged, forming the Malatia-Sebastia branch.

The reorganization has also affected the “Shirak Regional Child and Family Support Center” and the “Gyumri Children’s Home,” which have been combined into the Gyumri branch.

According to the justification of the decision, in each case the institutions previously provided only one type of service, creating difficulties in supporting individuals or families needing different types of care. At the same time, concentrating people with similar needs in one institution runs counter to inclusivity and hinders balanced professional development among specialists.

The restructuring is expected to eliminate overlapping positions, reduce administrative costs, and enhance management efficiency.

The decision also notes that the organizations selected for merger were chosen based on their areas of activity, the nature of services provided, and their locations.
