
U.S. President Donald Trump warned that “an entire civilization” could be destroyed overnight, in a post on the Truth Social platform.
“I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” he wrote.
Trump added that he does not rule out “something revolutionary and wonderful,” without providing further details, according to «RIA Novosti».
“Who knows? We will find out tonight, in one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world,” he emphasized.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, for his part, said that the main military objectives of the U.S. operation against Iran have already been achieved.
“There is something else we would like to do… but overall, the United States’ military objectives have been accomplished,” Vance said during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Earlier, Iran’s state agency IRNA reported that Tehran had rejected a ceasefire proposal from the U.S., stressing the need for a complete end to the conflict and the lifting of sanctions. The response also outlined Iran’s demands regarding safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Amid reports of a possible U.S. ground operation, a volunteer mobilization campaign has begun in Iran.
Previously, Trump warned that on April 7 the U.S. could destroy Iran’s “bridges and power plants” if Tehran does not ensure free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that otherwise Iranians would “live in hell.”
Tehran has said it will deliver a decisive response if Washington carries out its threats.
Military operations by the U.S. and Israel against the Islamic Republic have been ongoing since February 28, with both sides exchanging strikes.
