The formation of trust-based digital economies and a digital society is a strategic priority for the Armenian government, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said at the Doing Digital Forum 2026, Armenpress reports.
“We are convinced that one of the prerequisites for enhancing our national resilience and ensuring sustainable, continuous economic development is open, transparent, secure, and protected data, infrastructure, and an environment of trust. If I were asked to define digitalization or digital transformation in a single sentence, I could not, and I am not sure even artificial intelligence could fully convey it. First and foremost, the government sees it as a way to simplify citizens’ lives, to create a predictable and trustworthy environment for the private sector and business, to protect citizens’ data, build infrastructure, and, why not, foster a new environment for technological advancement and innovation,” Hayrapetyan said.
The minister also emphasized that in recent years the government, together with private sector partners, has implemented large-scale and multifaceted reforms in this direction.
The Doing Digital Forum 2026 was organized by SPRING PR and held under the theme Uniting Platforms and Economies.
