Pashinyan says TRIPP processes accelerate

Armenia and the United States are intensifying efforts to implement the TRIPP project, with progress moving faster than expected.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a parliament-government Q&A session that processes related to the TRIPP initiative have not slowed down but have instead accelerated.

He emphasized that assurances have been received at the highest level that the project remains a priority for the United States, Armenpress reports.

“I should say that the processes related to TRIPP have not only not slowed down but have accelerated, and both sides — Armenia and the U.S. — are interested in implementing it as quickly as possible. Moreover, in recent days we have discussed the possibility of constructing power transmission lines and carrying out construction work earlier than initially planned,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, as the process matures, it is evident that both Armenia and the United States view the project as a priority, particularly given its growing economic significance.

“I forecast that in the near future, engagement, interest, and the pace of implementation will only increase,” he added.

Pashinyan also noted that Azerbaijan shows a similar level of interest in the project.

“In practice, work is carried out almost daily, and there is no working day when I do not address issues related to TRIPP or give instructions, along with other government members involved in the process,” the prime minister concluded.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed in Washington a document on Armenia–U.S. cooperation within the framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.

The published document outlines the procedures for implementing the initiative and does not create or intend to create legal obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
