Mirzoyan says issues with Baku remain

There are still unresolved issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a panel discussion at the Yerevan Dialogue forum, recalling that Armenian detainees continue to be held in Baku.

“I cannot say that all issues have been resolved. We have gone through a very bloody conflict, and the wounds are still fresh. Both societies still need genuine reconciliation. The unresolved issues are primarily humanitarian in nature, and we still have detained persons. Nevertheless, the path is very optimistic,” Mirzoyan said, according to Sputnik Armenia.

The Armenian foreign minister also expressed confidence that there is already real peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that there are currently no shootings along the border.
