Artsakh-born athlete Karen Sargsyan won a gold medal at the 2026 European Sambo Championships held in Tbilisi.

Competing for Armenia’s national sambo team in the men’s 58 kg category, Sargsyan defeated Georgia’s Vakhtang Chidrashvili 2-1 in the final to become European champion.
