Kurtulmuş: Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is in past

The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan now belongs to the past, Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said at the conference “Тurkey in a Changing World: Partner, Balancer, Strategic Actor,” organized by the Finland-Turkey Interparliamentary Friendship Group in Helsinki.

He noted that the Caucasus continues to be regarded as one of the world's troubled regions, Factor.am reports.

“Azerbaijan and Armenia have entered a certain path toward agreement, and Turkey is providing extremely serious support to this process. I hope that soon we will be able to inform the international community about new developments regarding the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this way, the tense situation in our region, where conflicts and tensions have occurred, will be resolved, and steps benefiting all three countries will continue to be taken,” the Turkish official said.

According to Kurtulmuş, Turkey continues to support the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process and hopes that new developments can be recorded in the near future that will contribute to strengthening regional stability and cooperation.
