Europe stands in solidarity with Armenia amid economic pressure from Russia, stated Marta Kos on X.
She said she is looking forward to the launch of the joint EU-Armenia working group agreed upon on June 4 by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“EU financial support, trade measures, and solidarity will help ease the pressure. I look forward to returning to Armenia soon,” she wrote.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously announced that the European Union would provide Armenia with €50 million in immediate assistance. She said she had discussed Russian restrictions imposed on Armenia during a phone call with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to von der Leyen, following Russia’s restrictions on flower imports from Armenia, a new export route has already been arranged, and the first shipment of 10,000 flowers is scheduled to arrive in Latvia on June 5, with additional deliveries expected to follow.
