
A total of 282 reports concerning alleged obstruction of the electoral process were received between February 7 and June 7, Tsovak Mnatsakanyan, a senior prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office department overseeing the legality of pretrial proceedings at the Anti-Corruption Committee, announced.
Speaking at the Central Electoral Commission, the prosecutor presented consolidated statistics on criminal proceedings and prosecutions related to the election process.
According to Mnatsakanyan, criminal proceedings were initiated in 165 cases, while public criminal prosecution was launched against 252 individuals. Fourteen criminal cases involving 42 defendants were forwarded to court with approved indictments.
Requests seeking the consent of the Central Electoral Commission to prosecute and deprive 12 parliamentary candidates of their liberty were submitted. Eleven of those requests were approved, while one remains under consideration.
Mnatsakanyan also reported that, as of 8:00 a.m. on June 7, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Committee had processed 195 reports concerning alleged crimes related to interference with the electoral process, of which 32 did not result in criminal proceedings.
One report received from the National Security Service was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Committee for further action. A total of 99 criminal proceedings were initiated, operational-investigative measures are underway in 61 cases, and two reports were transferred to the police for verification.

Among the accused, 44 have been placed in pretrial detention, while 21 have been placed under house arrest.
Requests were also submitted to the Central Electoral Commission concerning six parliamentary candidates, seeking permission to prosecute and deprive them of liberty. Five requests were approved, while one remains under review.
One parliamentary candidate has been declared wanted, but authorities have not yet located the individual.
In addition, indictments involving 33 defendants in nine criminal proceedings have been referred to the competent courts.
Regular National Assembly elections are underway in Armenia. The country’s 2,005 polling stations opened at 8:00 a.m. The voter registry includes 2,485,851 registered voters. Polling stations will remain open until 8:00 p.m.
A total of 18 political forces are participating in the parliamentary elections: two electoral alliances and 16 political parties. The electoral threshold is 4% for parties and 8% for alliances.
