Parents' group urges opposition not to legitimize vote

The NGO “Call of the Sons” issued a statement addressed to opposition political forces, urging them not to legitimize the June 7 elections.

“Under no circumstances should you legitimize the National Assembly elections of June 7, which were conducted amid unprecedented government pressure, government corruption, and legal coercion, because we believed that you were fighting not for mandates and positions, but for the homeland and Yerablur,” the statement said.

The appeal appears to refer to the possibility of opposition parties refusing to take up their parliamentary mandates.

According to the latest preliminary results, the vote distribution is as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825%, Strong Armenia — 23.281%, Armenia Alliance — 9.934%, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996%. Under these updated figures, the Prosperous Armenia Party does not clear the 4% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation.
