Prosperous Armenia cites vote-count discrepancies

The Prosperous Armenia Party has begun the process of recounting election results at a number of polling stations and says the review has uncovered several inconsistencies. The announcement was made by party spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan on Facebook.

According to the information presented by the party, 120 votes were undercounted across four polling stations.

“By comparing information received from different polling stations, we have recorded the following picture:

At polling station 27/7, according to the precinct commission’s protocol, the Prosperous Armenia Party received 77 votes, while the CEC website lists 1 vote.

At polling station 12/20, the protocol indicates that 26 voters supported Prosperous Armenia, whereas the CEC website shows 1 vote.

At polling station 27/26, the protocol records 19 votes for Prosperous Armenia, while the CEC website shows 3 votes.

At polling station 38/53, the protocol records 7 votes, while the CEC website lists 4 votes.

These are indisputable facts, and anyone can see these discrepancies on the CEC website. The findings have been submitted to the Central Electoral Commission in a working format, and the data are currently being updated. We continue to document new findings from various polling stations and will provide further updates in the near future,” the statement said.

The party said it is continuing recount-related work and gathering additional information regarding other polling stations.

According to the preliminary results of the June 7 National Assembly elections, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825%, Strong Armenia — 23.281%, Armenia Alliance — 9.934%, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996%. Under these updated figures, Prosperous Armenia does not surpass the 4% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation. Earlier reports had indicated that the party had reached 4%.
