
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Civil Contract party on their victory in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, expressing confidence that bilateral relations will continue to expand in the coming years.
Pezeshkian praised the successful conduct of the elections and described the renewed support shown by the Armenian people for Pashinyan’s government as a sign of its commitment to policies aimed at strengthening peace, development, stability, and regional cooperation in the South Caucasus.
The Iranian president expressed confidence that the positive and dynamic trend in relations between Tehran and Yerevan in recent years would be reinforced through broader and more constructive cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
According to Pezeshkian, this process will help advance the interests of both nations while contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region through cooperation and joint efforts by regional states.
He also wished peace, prosperity, and well-being to the government and people of Armenia, describing the country as a friendly neighbor with longstanding ties to Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also congratulated Pashinyan on the National Assembly election victory in a post written in Armenian, Factor.am reported.
“We are pleased that favorable opportunities have been created to continue constructive cooperation aimed at strengthening the positive and dynamic course that has developed in Iran-Armenia relations,” he wrote on his X account.
According to preliminary results of Armenia’s June 7 National Assembly elections, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract – 49.825%, Strong Armenia – 23.281%, Hayastan Alliance – 9.934%, Prosperous Armenia – 3.996%. Under these updated figures, Prosperous Armenia has not cleared the 4% threshold required for political parties.
