Opposition bloc prepares Constitutional Court appeal

The Hayastan Alliance is preparing to appeal to Armenia’s Constitutional Court in order to challenge the results of the parliamentary elections. The announcement was made by alliance representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan during a conversation with journalists.

“Once the final count is completed, we will submit our case to the Constitutional Court. A fairly extensive package is being prepared,” he said.

Commenting on whether the alliance will accept parliamentary mandates, Saghatelyan noted that the issue remains under discussion and requires consultations with other opposition partners, Aysor.am reported.

According to him, a final decision will be made only after those discussions are concluded.

According to preliminary election results, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract – 49.825%, Strong Armenia – 23.281%, Hayastan Alliance – 9.934%, Prosperous Armenia – 3.996%. Under the updated figures, Prosperous Armenia has not cleared the 4% threshold required for political parties, although the party has requested recounts in several polling stations.
