Court orders house arrest for Tsarukyan's son-in-law

A criminal court has ordered house arrest combined with bail of 20 million drams as a preventive measure against Karapet Ghuloyan, former governor of Kotayk Province and son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan, Radar Armenia reports.

Earlier, a prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against Ghuloyan on charges of carrying out unlawful actions involving property that had been placed under judicial restriction.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Ghuloyan was aware that the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia had imposed restrictions on actions related to the disposal of the property. Despite this, he allegedly damaged the exterior, interior and basement walls of a residential building.

“In particular, he organized the removal of facing tiles from the building’s exterior and interior walls, as well as the removal of doors and windows, among other actions,” prosecutors stated.
