Armenia seeks deeper cooperation with ODIHR

Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan stressed Armenia’s readiness to continue expanding constructive cooperation with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) during a meeting with ODIHR Director Maria Telalian, with the goal of further improving the country’s electoral system.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the results of Armenia’s parliamentary elections and the assessments presented by the ODIHR observation mission. They emphasized that the elections had been conducted in a free, fair, transparent manner and in line with democratic standards.

Abisoghomonyan thanked the ODIHR observation mission for its work, noting that the Armenian side had provided all necessary conditions to ensure that international observers could carry out their duties fully and without obstacles.

According to preliminary data, votes in the elections were distributed as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825 percent, Strong Armenia — 23.281 percent, Armenia Alliance — 9.934 percent, Prosperous Armenia — 3.996 percent.
