U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his political party’s victory in the parliamentary elections. He made the statement in a post on the Truth Social platform.
“Congratulations to Nikol Pashinyan on his decisive victory in Armenia’s nationwide elections. I am very proud to have supported his re-election. I have no doubt that, with him as the leader of beautiful Armenia, the country will reach new levels of greatness and success that will exceed everyone’s most ambitious expectations,” the post said.
According to preliminary figures, votes were distributed as follows: Civil Contract received 49.825 percent, Strong Armenia 23.281 percent, the Armenia Alliance 9.934 percent, and Prosperous Armenia 3.996 percent. Updated results indicate that Prosperous Armenia has not cleared the 4 percent threshold required for parties to enter parliament, and the party has requested recounts in several polling stations.
