Excavations resume at Tatev Great Hermitage

The archaeological expedition of the Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage (headed by A. Nalbandyan) has resumed excavations at the Tatev Great Hermitage.

Although the excavations have only recently begun, archaeologists have already made several noteworthy discoveries, including fragments of medieval pottery and various architectural details, which will be presented in the course of the work.

The Tatev Great Hermitage is one of the valuable architectural and historical complexes of the late medieval period. It also held military significance in the 18th century during the liberation struggle organized by David Bek.
