Ex-defense minister faces compulsory appearance

A decision has been issued to bring former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, who is a defendant in the March 1 case, before the court. The Anti-Corruption Court announced the decision, according to Radar Armenia.

The decision was based on Seyran Ohanyan’s failure to attend a court hearing.

“He did not appear at today’s hearing,” court representatives said.

Ohanyan is accused of having, in 2008, while serving as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, acted in concert with others to overthrow Armenia’s constitutional order.
