Prosecutors report violations in Araratcement lease

The Prosecutor’s Office has reported a number of violations in the state registration process through which a 457.79-hectare land plot was granted to Araratcement under a lease agreement.

As part of its mandate to protect state interests, the prosecutor identified apparent signs of a criminal offense and, on June 16, submitted a crime report to the Anti-Corruption Committee.

At the same time, based on the violations discovered during the registration of the lease rights, the Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court seeking to have the state registration of Araratcement’s lease rights over the 457.79-hectare plot declared null and void.

The Prosecutor General’s Office also reported finding a number of violations in the privatization process of Araratcement, in transactions involving 74.1 hectares of land owned by the company, and in the acquisition of the Golden Key health resort, which is company property.

Based on the identified violations, the Prosecutor’s Office has submitted crime reports to the Anti-Corruption Committee and filed lawsuits with the competent courts.

Authorities are continuing to review the legality of other assets held by the company and have suggested considering administrative measures.

On May 5, 2026, the Prosecutor General’s Office sent a letter to the Armenian government proposing that it examine the violations identified within the company and take appropriate administrative measures to address their consequences, including considering the appointment of a temporary administrator.

The Prosecutor’s Office stated that its review of the legality of the acquisition of other assets owned or leased by Araratcement CJSC is ongoing.
