Armenia, U.S. push for rapid TRIPP implementation

Armenia and the United States are committed to moving forward rapidly with the implementation of the TRIPP project, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a briefing following a government meeting.

Addressing the investments and financing required for the project, Pashinyan stated that the United States has already made at least a preliminary decision regarding funding and has established a fund through which regional projects, including TRIPP, are expected to be financed, according to Armenpress.

“A substantial allocation has already been made to a major fund, and as for the remaining part, the Republic of Armenia will naturally fulfill its obligations. The document has been signed [referring to the agreement on TRIPP signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio]. It is now in the ratification stage, but we should not wait for formalities. We must move forward as quickly as possible. That is the position of both Armenia and the United States,” Pashinyan emphasized.

Armenia and the United States signed the framework agreement on TRIPP via videoconference on June 4.

The document was signed on behalf of Armenia by Ararat Mirzoyan and on behalf of the United States by Marco Rubio.
