Earthquake in Azerbaijan felt near Vardenis

On June 19 at 7:17 p.m. local time (3:17 p.m. GMT), the seismological network of Armenia’s Territorial Seismic Protection Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs recorded a magnitude 3.1 earthquake in Azerbaijan at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone measured 4–5 points.

The earthquake was felt in the town of Vardenis in Gegharkunik Province, as well as in the villages of Mets Masrik, Geghamasar, Norakert, Sotk and Azat, with an intensity of 2–3 points.

The tremors were recorded at geographic coordinates 40.30° north latitude and 45.94° east longitude.
