Importers to need conformity documents from July 1

Beginning July 1, importers bringing certain goods from third countries under the customs procedure Release for Domestic Consumption will be required to submit a conformity assessment document to customs authorities, Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) announced.

The requirement applies to products covered by the following technical regulations:

  • Perfumery and cosmetic products (CU TR 009/2011);
  • Juice products derived from fruits and vegetables (CU TR 023/2011);
  • Certain types of food intended for special dietary purposes, including therapeutic and preventive dietary nutrition (CU TR 027/2012);
  • Tobacco products (CU TR 035/2014);
  • Packaged drinking water, including natural mineral water (CU TR 044/2017).

The SRC emphasized that these technical regulations are not new and have already been in force throughout the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including in Armenia.

The change concerns the requirement that, starting July 1, 2026, conformity assessment documents for these products must also be presented directly to customs authorities during the import process.

The SRC urged importers to verify in advance the applicable requirements for their products, obtain the necessary conformity assessment documents on time, and attach them when submitting customs declarations.
