
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with ambassadors of European Union member states accredited to Armenia and thanked them for their assessments and congratulations following the parliamentary elections.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, who congratulated the prime minister on the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections.
The European Union reaffirmed its readiness to continue close cooperation with Armenia in promoting democratic values, stability, and development.
Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the European Union's support for Armenia's democratic processes and reform agenda.
The participants discussed issues related to the Armenia–European Union cooperation agenda. They exchanged views on reforms, strengthening the rule of law, economic cooperation, infrastructure development, energy resilience, as well as regional stability and the peace agenda.
The meeting also addressed further steps to deepen the Armenia–European Union partnership. Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining high-level political dialogue and expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
On June 14, the final results of the June 7 parliamentary elections were published. Civil Contract received 726,819 votes, or 49.7456%, Strong Armenia won 340,006 votes, or 23.2710%, while the Hayastan Alliance secured 144,983 votes, or 9.9231%. The Prosperous Armenia Party failed to pass the 4% electoral threshold, receiving 58,287 votes, or 3.9893%, and will not enter parliament.
Civil Contract will hold 64 seats, including three allocated to representatives of national minorities. The Strong Armenia Party will receive 29 seats, including one reserved for an Assyrian representative, while the Hayastan Alliance will hold 12 seats.
