Pashinyan says Araratcement to become state-owned

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Araratcement will soon become state-owned and that the government will appoint a temporary administrator.

"The rule of law must prevail, and it must remain within the bounds of common sense. Court rulings on the confiscation of illicitly acquired assets are gradually entering into legal force," Pashinyan said after a government meeting, according to Radar Armenia.

He stressed that it was important to avoid actions that could create new problems and referred to the earlier case involving the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.

"Let's not do anything today that could create new issues. I want to recall the case of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine. In Kapan, I warned that those carrying out politically motivated or commissioned actions would lose their jobs. I said this in June, and by August they had been dismissed. Some were later prosecuted," he said.

Pashinyan also addressed Araratcement employees, urging them not to become involved in such actions so that similar situations would not be repeated in the future.

"Those who engage in such actions or put pressure on others will be dismissed. Yes, in essence, I am issuing that warning," the prime minister said.
