
In June 2026, consumer prices in Armenia increased by 5.1% compared with the same period last year. According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, the sharpest increase was recorded in the food category, where prices rose by 8.8%. Education costs climbed by 8.3%, while healthcare prices increased by 3.5%, Pastinfo reports.
Prices for bread and cereals rose by 2.8%, while meat prices increased by 12.5%. Within that category, beef recorded the steepest rise, with prices up 23.4%. Poultry prices increased by 5.2%, while the dairy, cheese and eggs category posted inflation of 12.5%. Egg prices alone surged by 29.9%.
Despite export-related challenges, prices in the fruit category did not decline. On the contrary, fruit prices increased by 16.8% compared with the same period last year. Vegetable prices also rose by 3.1%.
Coffee and tea prices also increased, rising by 5.6% and 4.5%, respectively.
Russia has imposed restrictions on imports of Armenian products. In particular, it has banned imports of Jermuk mineral water, flowers and certain alcoholic beverages from Armenia. Restrictions have also been introduced on a number of agricultural products, including tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries. Since June 2, Russia has restricted imports of cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and other stone fruits from Armenia, as well as their transit to other Eurasian Economic Union member states. Since June 3, Russia has also restricted imports of eggplants, potatoes and dried fruits originating from and exported by Armenia.
