Araratcement resumes production

Araratcement has resumed its production process, Armenia's Ministry of Economy said.

Deputy Economy Minister Edgar Zakaryan visited the plant to review how production has been reorganized following the restart. He toured the facility together with the company's chief executive.

During the visit, Zakaryan reaffirmed the ministry's readiness to assist the enterprise in resolving any issues that could arise during its manufacturing operations.

Commenting on the factory's return to work, the deputy minister said that keeping production continuous and uninterrupted is essential both for preserving the country's industrial capacity and for supporting overall economic activity.

Beginning early on July 6, law enforcement officers carried out searches at the residence of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan and at nearly all companies belonging to the Multi Group concern. Araratcement was also sealed. A day earlier, the plant's employees staged a protest, demanding that they be allowed to return to work.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan later said during a briefing: "There is an ongoing process regarding Araratcement. Very soon it will become state-owned, and a manager will be appointed."
