EU to approve new Armenia hybrid threats mission

European Union foreign ministers are expected to approve the establishment of a new EU partnership mission for Armenia focused on countering hybrid threats.

The announcement was made by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.

“We are also preparing to agree on a new partnership mission for Armenia to address hybrid threats and FIMI (Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference), which they are actually facing,” Kallas said, according to Factor.am .

The planned initiative is designed to strengthen Armenia's capacity to respond to hybrid challenges, including foreign information manipulation and interference.

The European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (EUPM Armenia) is a civilian advisory mission operating under the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). It was established on April 21, 2026.
