A judge at the Shirak Region Court of General Jurisdiction, Vardenik Melkonyan, recently found citizen A.S. guilty of calling for violence against the prime minister and imposed a fine of 750,000 drams. The ruling became known through the Datalex judicial information system.
According to the charges, public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.S. on May 29, 2026, after he posted the following comment from his Facebook page under a photograph of Nikol Pashinyan: “BURN this scum, this Turkish bastard, alive in front of our parents,” Factor.am reports.
After charges were brought against A.S., he was placed under a travel restriction. Just half a month later, the case was sent to court for consideration on the merits.
During the trial, A.S. requested that the case be considered under an expedited procedure. This meant he accepted the charge brought against him.
The citizen will pay the 750,000-dram fine in installments over a period of no more than one year.
