Former National Assembly member Sofya Hovsepyan has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, seeking a public retraction of factual claims allegedly damaging her honor, dignity and reputation, Auroranews.am reports.
Pashinyan previously said: “Civil Contract received 100% organic votes, while the other forces received 100% of their votes through electoral bribery... Without money, no one voted for them, absolutely no one.”
The case reached the court on July 14 and was assigned to Judge Sargis Yeritsyan of the Civil Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan. The claim has not yet been admitted for proceedings.
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan also filed a lawsuit over the same statement by Nikol Pashinyan, followed by lawyer Lusine Avagyan. Galstanyan’s claim has already been accepted for proceedings by Judge Marina Tashchyan.
Earlier, Nikol Pashinyan went to court seeking to compel Sofya Hovsepyan to publicly apologize for allegedly insulting him and retract information he considered defamatory. He also demanded 6 million drams in compensation.
