UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan, currently ranked No. 2 in the division, has not ruled out competing in the freestyle wrestling tournament at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
“I'm gradually becoming a wrestler. In a year, I'll start competing against real wrestlers. It's possible that I'll compete at the next Olympic Games. Before that, I need to settle everything in the UFC. Then, if I can win the Armenian or Russian championship, I'll decide which country to represent,” Tsarukyan said on the v_abdusalamov YouTube channel, according to Factor.am.
In 2026, Tsarukyan made his debut in the Real American Freestyle (RAF) wrestling league, where he has already competed in seven matches and won all seven.
The 29-year-old Tsarukyan made his UFC debut in 2019. His most recent bout took place on November 22, 2025, when he defeated New Zealand's Dan Hooker by submission. Representing Armenia in mixed martial arts, Tsarukyan has fought 26 professional bouts, recording 23 victories and three defeats.
