Regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Canada were held in Ottawa on July 21. The consultations were led by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Canadian Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandre Lévêque.

The two sides discussed a broad range of issues related to advancing the Armenia–Canada bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation within international organizations. Both parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening political relations through expanded economic ties and investment in areas of mutual interest.

The interlocutors welcomed the current positive trajectory of bilateral relations, noting that they had gained fresh momentum following the visit to Armenia by a delegation led by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to participate in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community. They also stressed the importance of maintaining regular high-level contacts.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan briefed his Canadian counterpart on regional developments and Armenia’s efforts aimed at further strengthening peace in the South Caucasus.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on international developments.
