Court rules Armat Media search unlawful

The search conducted at Armat Media news agency has been declared unlawful, the outlet reports.

“The Court of Appeals declared the search unlawful, finding that the rights of media owner Alik Aleksanyan had been violated,” a Facebook post said.

On June 5, the Investigative Committee conducted searches at the Armat Media editorial office and seized employees’ computers and phones.

Alik Aleksanyan, a member of Strong Armenia, is accused of large-scale money laundering and giving electoral bribes. He is currently in custody.

According to the Investigative Committee, Aleksanyan, as founder and executive director of the Mer Dzevov public organization, received about $4.4 million and €230,000 from the Tashir Foundation between October 2025 and March 2026 in the form of gifts and loans.
