Employees of enterprises owned by Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan were received at the government building after being informed that the meeting would last 15 minutes. After leaving, they said their concerns had been heard but none of their questions had been answered.

The employees had gathered outside the government building, demanding that factories, stores, and other facilities be reopened so they could return to work, according to Sputnik Armenia.

"We met with Hamlet Nazaryan, head of the Department for Reviewing Applications, Monitoring, and Evaluating Feedback from Citizens. He did not say when our workplaces would reopen, how we are supposed to meet our bank obligations, or answer any of our questions. He simply wanted to calm the people gathered here," Erik Ohanyan, an employee of Olympavan, told reporters.

The protesters said they remain hopeful that a solution will be found and that they will be able to return to work next week.

Participants in the protest decided to remain outside the government building for several more hours until they receive a final and comprehensive response.

They continued chanting: "Open the workplaces! Open them! Open them!"

Early on July 6, officers of Armenia's National Security Service, State Revenue Committee, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police carried out simultaneous searches at more than 70 locations, including Tsarukyan's residence and companies linked to him. Tsarukyan was detained. On July 7, the Avan and Nor Nork Court of General Jurisdiction considered his pretrial measure, after which he was placed in pretrial detention for two months.
