In fact, comments of Russian parliamentarians against Armenia remind senseless hysteria, David Davtian , IAC ANALITIKA.at.ua expert said.

"The main argument of Russian deputies is "if we are not friends, then you should not be", that is unacceptable rhetoric towards Armenia. On the other hand, if we assume that the statement of Russian policy makers is based on the premise that "Saakashvili's regime is criminal", who waged war against the de-facto independent republics, then all Russian-Turkish contacts should be regarded as unfriendly by Armenia, as Turkey has committed crime: genocide. Of course, this question is absurd.

Some Russian MPs should be reminded that the inter-state relations between the two countries are, first of all a matter of two subjects of international law and the principles they based are also part of bilateral relations.

Russian politics do not pay attention that, Russia carefully protects unilaterally the rights and freedoms of the Abkhazians and Ossetians, but never in its reports mention about discrimination of Armenians of Dzhavhk, about infringement of basic human rights and the right of people to have national education and culture.

Then, in respect to real hostile acts, Moscow is a record holder: the stories of the Iranian gas pipeline, five Armenian factories, systematic killings of Armenians in Russia. The closed Upper Lars checkpoint at the Georgian border with Georgia is apotheosis of friendship, since Armenian products make round trip before reaching Russia.

Russian MPs have no moral or political right to do such statements detrimental to bilateral relations," Mr. Davtian said.
