Armenia - for peaceful settlement of Iran's nuclear problem
Armenia backs peaceful negotiation process over Iran's nuclear program, NSC Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan said during an interview with German Spiegel Online periodical. Western countries, according to him, seek resolution in negotiations vs. conflicts. "We want to maintain good and friendly relations with Iran," he noted.
In response to the question whether Armenia may face the threat of isolation as Russia's only ally in the region, Arthur Baghdasaryan ruled out such possibility. "We cooperate with NATO, and that is one of the elements of our security policy. Russia has been our strategic partner since gaining independence. We are one of CSTO founding members. However, integration to European structures is a priority for us," Mr. Baghdasaryan said.
