COLORADO LEGISLATORS PASSED RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING FACT OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN OTTOMAN TURKEY
Yesterday the House of Representatives and the Senate of Colorado US state passed a joint resolution on recognition of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey. The document says that the events in 1915 were the first genocide in the 20-th century and took 1.5 million lives. In the course of the discussions around passing the resolution, passages from the book of memorials on the Armenian genocide written by Henry Morgenthau, who was US ambassador to Turkey at the time, were read.
