OSCE MG: Karabakh settlement not linked to other processes
Peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is an independent process and is not linked to any other processes, OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, Ambassador Yuri Merzlyakov of Russia, Ambassador Bernard Fassier of France and Ambassador Robert Bradtke of the United States, said during their visit in Yerevan on October 1.
"The so-called Minsk process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement is an independent process which should flow in compliance with its individual logic, without any preconditions, within reasonable terms and without acceleration or slowdowns," the Co-chairs said. "The countries engaged in the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh process have numerously stated that these two processes are not interrelated."
With this statement, the Co-chairs called to prevent any attempt to gamble on the issue.
They said the purpose of their visit is to discuss key issues on the threshold of the presidential meeting in Chisinau.
In Yerevan, the mediators are scheduled to meet with President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.
They will also visit Stepanakert on October 2 and 3 and then Baku, from October 4 to 6.
