NEW TRANSPORT CORRIDOR THROUGH IRAN AND CASPIAN TO CONTRIBUTE TO DEVELOPING ARMENIA'S FOREIGN TRADE
The new transport corridor through Iran and the Caspian will contribute to developing Armenia's foreign trade. Member of the Russian economic delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, member of State Duma Committee on energy, transport and communication Vladimir Katalnikov told "Arka" agency about it. He noted that the new transport way would open a corridor to Astrakhan, and then through the Caspian via Astrakhan Armenia would be able to develop trade with Central Asian republics and Europe. Katalnikov reported that the Russian Parliament was the initiator of the opening of the new transport corridor, and the Government was also ready to second the proposal. The Russian State Duma deputy noted that the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Armenia had supported the initiative, and the details are being worked over with Iran at present.
