Turkey assumed more serious attitude to Armenian-Turkish rapprochement
This is the first case when US Administration announces in the person of President that Armenian Genocide should be punished, Turkish Studies expert and Oriental Studies Institute Director Ruben Safrastyan told a news conference in Yerevan. That makes Turkey adopt a more cautious and serious attitude to normalization of Armenian-Turkish ties, expert believes. As an example, he quoted Turkish FM Davutoglu's recent statement on his country's intention to speed up normalization process.

Mr. Safrastyan dwelled on Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan's mitigated position on current normalization process. "In that connection, Erdogan has become cautious in his statements about Armenia," he said.

"The sooner Protocols enter into force the better. I think their implementation will contribute to Armenia's development," Armenian expert stressed.
