"Now more than ever the world needs international solidarity. I appeal to all stakeholders: governments, foundations and other donors, to everyone individually: Haiti needs an immediate, broad and purposeful assistance," Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova said.

UNESCO has already started developing an action plan to provide operational assistance for the rehabilitation of educational infrastructures in Haiti.
