"ARMENTEL" COMPANY OWNERS REALIZE THEY NOT ABLE TO FULFILL AGREEMENT OBLIGATIONS
Today the close meeting of the temporary parliamentary committee for study of the activities of the government in the telecommunication sphere took place. The committee considered the issue on fulfillment of agreement obligations by the "ArmenTel" company. Committee chairman Vazgen Manukian has noted that the dissatisfaction with the agreement terms is expressed not only by the Armenian part but also by the Greek one. (As it is known, the Greek Company OTE is the owner of 90% of "ArmenTel" shares). According to Manukian, the Greeks will provide technical retrofitting of the automatic phone stations in eight villages and claim that it is not really possible to do that by the time stipulated in the agreement. It is obvious that the last agreement needs reconsideration. This, in Vazgen Manukian's opinion, gives an opportunity to liquidate the communication monopoly.
