To mark the Year of Native Language, Armenian studies center was opened in St. Clement of Ohrid University of Sofia on the initiative of Armenian Embassy in Bulgaria.

Repair and re-equipment of the center was sponsored by Hakobyan family and assisted by Armenian Embassy in Bulgaria.

Hakobyan family, expert at Bulgarian Ministry of Education, Youth and Science Inna Popova, honorary consul of Armenia and representatives of Sofia’s Armenian community were invited to participate in the opening ceremony.

Congratulatory address of Bulgarian Minister of Education, Youth and Science Sergei Ignatov was read out at the opening ceremony, followed by artistic program presented by students of Armenian studies center.
