The youth wing of the Social Democratic Hnchak Party in connection with the 22nd anniversary of the Sumgait pogroms of Armenians, issued a statement saying that the events in Sumgait were a well-planned Genocide. Until and unless the international community gives a clear assessment to the Genocide of Armenians in Sumgait, such events cannot be excluded in the future," the statement says.

"What happened in Sumgait is the Genocide, foundations of which were laid down in the beginning of the last century," the statement says.
