INFORMATION OF PANARMENIAN.NET MADE A STIR IN BAKU AND ANKARA
"Zerkalo" Baku newspaper writes in today's issue about vainness of attempts of PanARMENIAN.Net to cause quarrel between Azerbaijan and Turkey. It turned out that we made two Turk states quarrel by quoting Azeri press. "Zerkalo" doubts the authenticity of the phrase, which we took out from the statement by Turkish Foreign Ministry. ("Ankara would like to expand relations between Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan in all spheres, especially in economy, social and cultural arenas.") Meanwhile the citation is taken from "525-th Newspaper" Baku edition (22.11.01.), at the instance of which the Turkish Foreign Ministry commented the results of the visit of the head of the Turkish foreign department to Baku. At the same time "Zerkalo" adds a whole sentence into the quotation, made by us and tries to present it as canard by PanARMENIAN.Net. Meanwhile, there was no phrase in the text of the quotation made by us that we allegedly ascribe to the Turkish Minister, -"It is not clear why Azerbaijan does not recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus." Maybe Ismail Jem really said this, "Zerkalo" knows better, but we did not write it and you can make sure of it if you visit our yesterday' issue. In any case the stir in Baku and Ankara after the yesterday's article in PanARMENIAN.Net is noteworthy. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Mamed Aliyev immediately came out with a comment of our information and stated "Turkey never made such demands on Azerbaijan". At the same time he let out "the society sometimes expresses such wishes." (The demand of recognizing of the so-called "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" is meant, which has proclaimed itself after invasion of Turkish troops into a part of the island.)
