TWO GROUPINGS HAVING LOCAL CELLS IN AZERBAIJAN AND TWO TURKISH ONES INCLUDED IN U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT LIST OF TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS
The Azeri press is indignant that an ethnic Armenian was charged to form the U.S. State Department list of the terrorist organizations operating around the world. Chief of the Department of investigation and secret service of the State Department Morton Abrahamian, who had worked in the Central Investigation Board for a long period of time, has prepared the report for the Foreign Ministry leadership. Baku is trying to connect this circumstance with the fact that Armenia and Armenians do not appear in the report on international terrorism in any way, while two groupings operating in Turkey, one of which is purely Turkish, are included in the list. Besides, there are at least two organizations that have local cells in Azerbaijan. Among the 43 terrorist organizations operating around the world there are 6 Palestinian, 4 Irish, 3 Pakistani, 3 Philippine, 3 Colombian, 2 Egyptian, 2 Spanish, 2 Afghani, 2 Greek, 2 Japanese ones. Organizations operating in Israel, Iran and Lebanon are also mentioned in the list.
