Sauerland offers Majorca as Abraham vs. Froch fight venue

Super middleweight Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham continue to battle over fight location for their showdown in the third stage of Showtime's Super Six tournament, boxingscene.com reported.

The latest offer thrown on the table from Abraham's promoter, Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event, would see the event take place in a bull ring in Majorca. Froch quickly turned it down. "I don't fancy that," Froch said. "What about the heat?"

Froch wants the fight to take place in Nottingham at Meadow Lane or the Trent FM Arena or in America. Sauerland says the fight has to happen in Germany or an alternate venue in Europe. Sauerland may have been willing to work something out where the fight would take place in Nottingham, but not a single venue in the area has sent him an offer to host the fight.

"It's all about money in this business and we haven't received any financial offer from Nottingham, so, as it stands, we won't be going there," said Sauerland. "And I'm not really interested in America. We've looked at Zurich and Majorca. I love the idea of a bull ring in Majorca."
