First Travel Armenian tour operator will not offer tours to Antalya this year, due to the recent developments in the Armenian-Turkish normalization process, the company’s director Karen Andreasyan said.

“After the failure of the rapprochement process, Armenian tourists can’t be safe in Turkey,” he said during a joint press conference with Ani Tour director Hripsik Arushanyan.

He informed that instead of tours to Antalya, the agency will offer tours to Tunisia. At that, he named the Georgian resort of Batumi as the most popular among Armenian tourists.

Commenting on high prices in Armenian resorts, Andreasyan said “it’s the monopoly to blame.”

Asked by a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter whether Turkish travel agents’ interest in Armenian tourism facilities increased, he said it didn’t.

Ms. Arushanyan, for her part, objected, saying that “Turkish travel agents are interested but no proposals have been received yet.”

She also noted that young Armenians show interest in Eastern Armenia.

“Recently, a 12-year-old boy persuaded his parents to buy a tour to Western Armenia,” she said.
