CEO of VTB Bank (Armenia) Valery Ovsyannikov congratulated winners of Mathematical Kangaroo competition – Edgar Minasyan (Yerevan) and Abraham Grigoryan (Vanashen village, Ararat region), handing over certificates and vouchers to Bulgaria.
“The number of children, who display good results during the competition, is growing, what proves a positive development of education in Armenia. I strongly believe that the children will continue their education, graduate from university and support Armenia’s further development,” the CEO of VTB said.
After the awarding ceremony, the winners visited Moscow branch of VTB Bank (Armenia) to familiarize themselves with routine operations of the bank.
This year, Mathematical Kangaroo had not absolute winner, but Ayb Foundation, the organizer of the competition, decided to award the best participants with vouchers to an international summer camp. Around 40,000 school students participated in the competition in 2010 against 30,000 last year.
Mathematical Kangaroo is an international competition, while the key competence tested by it is logical combination. The competition is held annually the same day in 50 countries with participation of around 6mln school students. The competition aims to increase children’s interest towards mathematics.
Mathematical Kangaroo is held in Armenia for the second time under the auspices of the RA Ministry of Education and Science. It is organized by Ayb foundation, while VTB Bank (Armenia) is its general partner.
