A joint performance of Armenian duduk virtuoso Djivan Gasparyan and Turkish folk singer Yavuz Bingol will not take place in Istanbul on September 1.

Gasparyan said the show was canceled, as the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency did not approve it, Hurriyet Daily News reported.

“A decision was taken to cancel the concert but I received no explanation. I am very sorry about this,” he said.
